13. Multi-task. This is where I am going to totally disagree. I don’t believe we do multi-tasking. I don’t believe anyone can do it effectively. What I would suggest is ‘block.’ Block your time. Concentrate on something a short amount of time or a longer amount of time and only work on that, then work on something else.
If someone wants to do business with me, for instance, they must schedule an appointment to chat on the phone. I don’t take phone calls, just a call coming in and interrupt what I’m doing. It’s going to take me so much longer to get back to what I needed to do. If they were my client calling me, they wouldn’t want me to be interrupted by someone else either.
Don’t multi-task. Don’t do 12 things at once and be going all over the place. I had someone come in one time and say, “Do you want to be a star salesman? No you don’t, you don’t want to go from here to here to here.” No, block your time. Work concentrated effort. Concentrate all that effort in a block of time for one thing that you’re working on and then move on to the next.
I build my schedule that way every day. I know from this time to that time, that’s all I’m going to work on and I’m going to focus on that. It would be pretty tough for me to do a video right now and do 12 things and then “Oh, excuse me, I’ve got a phone call coming in.” I can’t do that.
Concentrate your time. Block off your time to work just on one thing at a time… and forget the multi-tasking nonsense.

Who is Charlie Seymour Jr?

And even at an early age, Charlie created stories for people that others wanted to watch. He received his first camera (Brownie: remember them?) at age four and went on to become a professional photographer. He began his video career at age 11 at the side of Robert J. Kerr, the Dupont scientist (and community-theater director) who was a leading specialist in the creation of video tape at a time when a “home machine” weighed 37 pounds and you had to wind the tape from reel to reel. He started directing 3-camera video recordings at age 11 and now regularly has up to five cameras running at the same time, to get you from all angles and keep the viewer interested. At the heart of all of this Charlie has always known he’s a marketer and storyteller: whether it was helping professionals explode their success in their businesses, getting theater productions produced at several theaters, selling major real estate along the East Coast of the United States, or running his own online businesses. And hand-in-hand with his business skills is his love for people, helping them succeed while focusing attention on them when they do.
Charlie recently studied the buying habits of Baby Boomers and uses one phrase to describe many of his generation: “We’ve gone from Success To Significance in what drives us.
